In addition to the coordination of procurement and operational tasks, the promotion and further development of high-performance scientific computing is a central goal of the NHR Alliance. 

NHR Future Projects

In our Future Projects, several NHR centers work together on innovative topics. The current focus is on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) methods in conjunction with high-performance computing and the energy-efficient operation and use of high-performance computers:

• Interaction between HPC, AI, and Research Data
• AI-Accelerated Molecular Computations in HPC Environments
• Energy efficiency and operational costs in HPC

Externally funded projects

Our centers are involved in national and international HPC research and education, for example:

• Open-source solutions for monitoring and system settings for energy-optimized data centers. BMBF funding.
